Job Summary:

The brand team drives engagement, leads and builds brand awareness to improve conversion. Lead generation support is #1 priority. We’ll be creating assets to support lead gen for all commercial events, direct marketing programs, email marketing, corporate communications, social marketing, and brand marketing, among other tactics.

Bring the Sage brand to life with images and stories across many types of deliverables in the standard marketing mix. Develop big creative ideas including designs and imagery for campaigns supporting print advertisements, direct mail, digital promotions, video scripts, presentation scripts, presentations, collateral, websites, and print advertisements. This person partners closely with a Copywriter (internally and externally employed) to develop the most effective ways to visually position products, services, solutions, and offers.


Essential functions:

  • Create graphics for Sage’s online and offline marketing efforts, including brochures, packaging, sales sheets, case studies, presentations, inserts, newsletters, direct mail packages, event marketing signage, logos, print ads, email, landing pages, web banners, web pages, demos, and other jobs
  • Create and effectively arrange graphics, images, and all other content into a creative, cohesive, and visually-stimulating end-user experience
  • Establish layouts and copy specifications, research and select photos, create illustrations, set and implement style sheets, design pages, set color specifications, and produce mechanicals for assigned projects
  • Retouch photography
  • Contribute to the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and programs by designing fresh, attractive designs in a timely fashion
  • Keep abreast of emerging technologies, new ideas, and solutions for how to creatively develop high quality materials
  • Ensure that all design work follows corporate identity guidelines


Reporting relationships:

Report to the Creative Director, Global Creative Services Work closely with copywriting, video, and account management to complete projects






Qualifications and requirements:

  • 5-10 years serving as art director in advertising/marketing agency required
  • Experience designing for the technology and/or software industry
  • Proactive and deadline driven; autonomous worker with ability to be team-oriented
  • Solid understanding of the web and web technologies
  • Can expertly hand-code HTML and CSS
  • Must be fluent in Adobe Creative Cloud software (i.e., Photoshop, Illustrator, ImageReady, Dreamweaver, InDesign, etc.)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Experience and fluency in JavaScript
  • Experience using web content management system (CMS) tools a plus
  • Experience using digital asset management (DAM) software a plus
  • Willingness to learn new software, applications, and processes
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, proofreading and editing skills, and knowledge of print production processes
  • Excellent time management, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Detail oriented, committed to flawless execution
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional design teams and programmers
  • Familiarity with web communications, architecture and navigation, design and content strategies a plus
  • Experience managing internal and external designers preferred
  • 3+ years experience designing interactive media or web graphics
  • Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts / Communication, Web Design, Interactive Media, or related field from four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
