Job Purpose

To support the faculty and department in pursuit of its academic and research objectives which include: teaching according to a set syllabus; undertake research and innovation; contribute to curriculum development and design; engage in work integrated learning, and service learning activities

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • A Masters Degree in Fashion or Design related field
  • At least two (2) years’ relevant lecturing experience
  • At least five (5) years industry experience in Fashion related field
  • Track record in Design research
  • Indepth Knowledge of CAD: Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • In depth knowledge of design process
  • Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities
  • Lectures subjects within the field of Fashion Design
  • Participate in curriculum development
  • Perform appropriate academic and administrative duties in the Department
  • Participate in the Quality Assurance activities of the Department
  • Participate in research
  • Contribute to community initiatives by integrating community interventions into curriculum.
  • Develop and maintain linkages with industry and professional bodies on cooperative education, new techniques/technologies and research projects
  • Assist with marketing and recruitment activities
  • Perform other functions as may be assigned by the Head of Department
