  • Knowledge of the retail merchandise cycle with regards to buying
  • Fabric knowledge
  • To deliver trend and brand relevant placement graphics, textile, embroidery and print designs
  • Create new digital textile designs/ prints as all overs, placements or engineered prints
  • Good strategic, conceptual skills and a solid knowledge of South African retail and international landscape
  • Keep up to date with the latest trends in fashion and textiles, locally and internationally
  • Put together trend forecasts and colour pallets for future seasons
  • Put together presentation boards for designers
  • Approve artwork and match Pantones
  • Must have an understanding of different printing processes applicable to the textile industry
  • Ensure projects/ designs are completed on time
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Be able to work on a MAC computer system
  • Be able to sketch technical drawings for designers will be an advantage
  • Strong eye for fashion and detail with the ability to predict, analyse & monetize future retail textile and graphic print trends for local customer
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
  • All communication demonstrated in an indepth trend knowledge coupled with a business understanding
  • Strong relationship building and influencing skills
  • Excellent time management, organizational and administrative skills and presentation – skills
  • High energy level and is performancedriven and deadline-orientated
  • Creative with an eye for detail, analytical and systematic, passionate about fashion

  • Minimum of 35 years' experience in design: with proven experience in Apparel
  • Responsible for executing trend strategy
  • Presentations will be delivered to key stakeholders on what is trending in the retail markets
  • Research, establish and present the textile and graphic print trends that will define the new season
  • Translate the textile and graphic print trend seasonal direction into customer appropriate fashion ensuring that key stakeholders in the business have a clear understanding of how to apply the textile and graphic print trend to their portfolios
  • Monitoring and interpreting of textile and graphic print trends and leveraging off both local and international resources to condense this into actionable insights to ensure that the product meets customer demand
  • Research and spot newness for bulk testing purposes
  • Keep teams in the loop of new growth opportunities
  • Track and analyse local and international best sellers in order to enable the team to optimize assortments and drive sellthru across portfolios
  • Produce artwork for relevant ranges
  • Develop textile and print graphic designs, relevant to ranges, preseason for intent as well as -ongoing as required or briefed by Buyers
  • Product development with regards to developing actual / 3D samples to use as input into intent meetings
  • Propose seasonal trend updates on winning styles based on the current trade for respective brand
  • Input into range building in conjunction with the buying team to ensure the collection is trend relevant, strong, cohesive and balanced
