Marketing Assistant – Newly Launched Footwear Brands

Exciting MARKETING ASSISTANT position available with NEWLY launched Footwear Brands! Two new footwear brands will form part of an already well-established retail fashion company in South Africa and we are looking for a Marketing Assistant to be part of the exciting launch and play an important role in the marketing of these two brands.

Under the guidance of the Marketing Manager, the Marketing Assistant needs to be a creative thinker, incredibly proactive and organised. The key goal is to explore unique and effective ways to increase brand awareness and maximise sales by understanding the impact of the marketing strategy across the business.

Job duties to include:

  • Conceptualise, co-ordinate and maintain marketing campaigns
  • Expand product solutions and offerings
  • Prepare marketing and P.R strategies alongside the Marketing Manager
  • Create campaigns and implement strategies to support the new brands
  • Campaign execution, monitoring activities and measuring results
  • Prepare and adhere to budgets
  • Developing and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Provide feedback to the Marketing Manager at weekly status meetings
  • Coordination of suppliers and partners to execute the strategy
  • Preparing, briefing in and liaising with advertising agencies regarding creative briefs
  • Researching, building and maintaining relationships/affiliations with key business people, suppliers and partners
  • Producing monthly, status and project reports
  • Ensuring effective implementation of strategic plans
  • Design print ads and publications
  • Ensure brand messages are consistent
  • Gather and analyse customer insight
  • Nurture and enrich all external perceptions of the company and growth of market share
  • Engage consumers on social media
  • Drive overall CRM and direct marketing

  • Proven ability to conceptualise and implement creative marketing campaigns
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage a variety of projects with multiple stakeholders and under tight deadlines
  • Attention to detail
  • Multi-task on multiple projects
  • Consistently achieving project goals on time, within budget whilst maintaining high standards for quality
  • Negotiation skills
  • Building trusted partnerships across the business, partners and suppliers
  • Ability to work with a team but also have the ability to act solo

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Appropriate tertiary qualification (Btech degree or equivalent in marketing / communications / public relations)
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in marketing, advertising or communications
  • Experience in a retail environment would be advantageous
