It’s no secret the fashion industry lacks diversity. Although we are starting to see improvements, the industry still has a long way to go until it can be referred to as inclusive. Fortunately, many models, designers and event managers are rallying against the white-washed reality of the fashion world and have taken it upon themselves to find different ways to advocate for the change we are all so desperate to see. One such event is coming up in January, 2019 – Black Fashion Week in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
Black Fashion Week, which follows the motto be unique, be you, will showcase the work of fifteen designers including: Kevin’s Brand, who will be presenting his KEVIN Leslie Collection; Senegalese designer, Pape Songde Siouf, head of Papino Creations and the man behind Senegal’s nation football team’s creative style and, Kimberly Stark, who is preparing what promises to be an unforgettable show with her brand, Coutoure Oforiwa.
The event will be hosted at the Wings Hotel at the Rotterdam Airport and will follow a “Fairytale” theme. With magical decorations and fashion creations, this runway show is destined to take guests on a surprising journey that celebrates diversity. Don't miss out on this incredible event!
