This year sees the second edition of the annual Ghana Tertiary Fashion Awards organized by Blackcode Ghana. The event aims to celebrate and honour students within the fashion industry and covers all areas within including fashion design, photography, make-up and styling and models. This is the perfect chance for hardworking students to showcase their work and earn the recognition they so rightly deserve.
This year, the Ghana Tertiary Fashion Awards has added a new category, namely the GTFA Teen Fashion Icon Award which is open for teens between the ages of thirteen and nineteen who are not yet enrolled in a tertiary school. With so many creative youngsters working on their own creations and brands, Blackcode Ghana decided it was only fair to create a special award category for these ambitious individuals, despite not currently following a fashion education.
The Ghana Tertiary Fashion Awards is now open to submissions for nominations and is encouraging students of various fields within the fashion industry to send in their work. Next to filling out the nomination form, you will be asked to send in copies of your work – which can include videos, portfolios, personal statements etc. – and promotional images. Submissions for nominations are open until July 31st, 2018 and the nominees will be announced a few weeks following the deadline.
If you’re currently following a fashion course in any of the above-mentioned categories and feel you have what it takes to be nominated as one of Ghana’s rising stars of the fashion industry, don’t miss out on this incredibly exciting opportunity. Put together a portfolio that simply cannot be ignored and who knows, you might be receiving your first award for your hard work this year!
All completed hand-written forms, videos and copies of work can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than July 31st, 2018. Good luck!
