A few weeks ago, our content writing staff at Fashionomics Africa considered the best time – read, season – to launch into new business ventures, and landed on spring and autumn coming out in favour. This is largely due to our own, general well-being – with the spring season bringing new drive and energy, and the autumn season more focus and calm – and, partially due to the right timing for marketing campaigns and launching initiatives. With the spring season looming just around the corner in South Africa, StartUp Guide couldn’t have chosen a better time to launch their program in Cape Town.
Founded by Sissel Hansen in 2014, StartUp Guide is a creative content and publishing company focused on providing guidebooks and tools designed to help entrepreneurs navigate and connect with different startup scenes from all over the world. Their books – such as The Entrepreneur’s Handbook – are available in 25 cities across Europe, North America, Asia and the Middle East, and three physical stores in Copenhagen, Lisbon and Berlin are open to anyone looking to familiarize themselves with the StartUp Guide products.
On September 4th, the StartUp Guide will finally introduce its South African edition by ways of an exciting launch party to be held at Workshop 17 Watershed. If you have been counting down the days till spring, eager to launch your own startup business, this event will be your best stepping-stone. Featuring a panel discussion moderated by Africa Director of SAP Next-Gen, Kwena Mabotja, attendants will learn all there is to know surrounding the events’ theme, “Development of South Africa as a Startup Hub”. This session will focus on its ecosystem and the many opportunities and challenges businesses might face during their launching process.
The StartUp Guide launch party will run from 11AM – 3PM – though attendants are welcome and encouraged to mingle for as long as they want after the event. The bar will run on tab and delicious snacks will be served free. This is your chance to yourself informed, schooled and pumped on the ins and outs of launching a startup business whilst mingling with likeminded locals!
