As part of our work to increase access to relevant information about the textile, apparel and accessories industry in Africa, Fashionomics Africa conducts regular studies to collect information on the sector – especially on the needs of African fashionpreneurs. In 2016, the Bank commissioned a feasibility study that resulted in the establishment of the Fashionomics Africa prototype platform based on the study’s recommendations. Recently, the African Development Bank has conducted a study that aims to stimulate investment in the jewellery manufacturing value chain on the African continent. The study intended to gain a better grasp of the contribution of the jewellery manufacturing industry and its potential for job creation for women and youth in Sierra Leone, Zimbabwe and the Republic of Guinea.
