Clothing Designer

Responsibilities:

• Liaise with Buyers and internal technical team to develop product from concept to Pre-Production samples;
• Graphic and CAD design;
• Prepare ranges /story-boards;
• Develop product specifications;
• Support presentations to buyers - may require local travel;
• Oversee the preparation of detailed tech packs;
• Support the tender process - costings, sample make-up, range design;
• Prepare costings - fabric, trims, ratings, ratios;
• Brief pattern makers;
• Involvement in fitting samples preparation;
• Source trims and fabrics (local/imports);
• Solve problems and issues regarding styles;
• Support the Brand Sales Manager to ensure a seamless service to major corporate clientele;
• Conduct ongoing trend research.

Qualifications:

• Diploma in Fashion Design;
• At least five years experience as a clothing designer (corporate wear/work wear is highly advantageous);
• Excellent professional communication skills - written and spoken;
• Digital: Illustrator, Photoshop, iSync, Microsoft Office;
• Skills: Trend Analysis, Presentations, Conceptual skills, Fabric and Trims knowledge;
• Strong collaboration and teamwork skills is essential;
• Critical Thinking;
• Analytica skills.
