Becca Apparel Steals the Show at the Africa Fashion Week London

This year saw the seventh edition of the African Fashion Week London, hosted once more at the prestigious Freemason’s Hall in Convent Garden. More than fifty designers and sixty exhibitors from all across the globe attended the event, offering five-hundred visitors per show the opportunity to familiarize and clothe themselves in the latest African trends.

One of the highlights of this years’ event, was the latest collection of British/Nigerian fashion label, Becca Apparel, the unique style of which celebrates Nigerian culture and identity. Described as “colourful, elegant and affordable” by African Glitz, Becca Apparel mesmerized the audience with loud, eclectic prints, flattering cuts and playful combinations. One of our favourite looks of the collection, are the beautiful printed pantsuits made up of loosely fitted trousers and tailored blazers, such as the Banke Set, which comes in tones of green and turquoise and warm, orange shades.

This season’s Becca Apparel couture dresses are every fashionista’s dream: ranging from printed designs with plunging necklines and bell-sleeves (Tina Maxi Dress) to bright, one-coloured pieces with killer silhouettes and fantastic  (Cara Red Scuba Dress), the brand caters to the high-fashion runway star as well as the casual trendsetter.

The brand has gained popularity due to its impeccable ability to highlight an African undertone in contemporary western designs and its determination to bring the rich, diverse culture of Nigeria and Africa at large to the forefront of the modern fashion industry.
