Eredappa’s history begins when she came back from England in 1994, where she was studying business. She explains in the interview with ‘FAJO Magazine’, that fashion has always been her way of expressing herself and all through her studying time she has not stopped thinking about it. Styling was her forte even then, as she would always experiment with textures, colors, patterns and would also help out her friends.

After she came back to Nigeria, Eredappa started designing a line of footwear and accessories that were being sold in Italy and France. However, it wasn’t until 2006, when she got her breakthrough in Nigeria with her woman collection. Her works consisted of incredible skill, fabrics, enchanting workmanship and a typical African spirit. The collection was a huge success even in the most prestigious European runways and also, it was the necessary exposure for Eredappa to reach Hollywood.

After that, she had her garments selected to dress the actors in the movie “Good Deeds”, together with the feature in “Genevieve” magazine, where her clothes were worn by the former Miss Agbani Darego, celebrating the seventh anniversary of the magazine. Since that time, the talented designer has gained a lot of awards, however, apart from that, she has also been involved in philanthropy work. The designer has proved to be inspiring in this association as well, by gaining the “Lifetime Achievement Award” and being invited to the first ever Ladies Luncheon in the New York City, organized by the ‘Fashion 4 Development’ in collaboration with UNESCO.

Eredappa’s biggest breakthrough yet was in 2011, when she had presented her new collection “SUN-sational” at the Nexus Fashion Market in New York. The collection has been described as a “visual experience” by the ‘VOGUE’ magazine, showing everyone that Africa got what it takes to compete with the best. The collection had a lot of bright colors incorporated with glass beads, which were representing the power of the sun. In the “FAJO Magazine’ interview, Eredappa states that her inspiration for her pieces comes from “African print fabrics that tell a folkloric story”.

Soon after, Eredappa has launched her first ever hand-beaded line of shoes and accessories in New York and now is aiming to expand globally, dress A-list celebrities and to be present in the most exclusive boutiques. Due to her accomplishments, Eredappa is even referred to as the ‘Nigerian pride’.
