Janet Jackson Shows off Aphia Sakyi’s Latest Collection in New Music Video
It’s been a while since Janet Jackson surprised us with a new single but true to her evergreen style, she made a big splash across all social media channels with the release of a teaser to her new music video for Made for Now. The new track featuring Daddy Yankee, proves motherhood hasn’t slowed Janet Jackson down one bit – she’s still got that silky hot groove we’ve always loved her for. And on top of that, she continues to be a fashion idol of the highest caliber.
The video to Made for Now is a great example of Janet Jackson’s ability to sniff out new trends before the rest of the world has caught on. In the teaser, which pays homage to her late, great brother, Michael Jackson, with a recreation of Remember the Time’s opening on what would have been his 60th birthday, Janet pulled out all the stops in terms of accessorizing. Her latest discovery is Ghanaian fashion and accessory brand, Aphia Sakyi, whose imaginatively authentic new collection, “50 Shades of Print” currently has the social media channels going wild.
Aphia Sakyi, which is famous for its intricate statement necklaces and innovative designs that pay tribute to Africa’s cultures and philosophy, is about to launch the “50 Shades of Print” collection at the Accra Fashion Week in October, where we are sure they will become the talk of the season. The brand made its debut at the first ever Accra Fashion Week in 2016 and has been increasingly gaining popularity. Following the release of Janet Jackson’s teaser, in which she sports a royal necklace entitled “Yaa Asantewaa” after the queen mother of Ejisu in the Ashanti Empire, Aphia Sakyi has been selling up to thirty necklaces a day!
We can’t wait to see what Aphia Sakyi has in store for us at the Accra Fashion Week between October 3rd – 7th, 2018.
