The siblings Tjay and Debbie Chirwa from Homegrown Lifestyle are on the way to lift up Malawi´s promising fashion industry.

The siblings want to mix between African print with hip trendy and boundary pushing clothing as well as all sort of vintage clothing.

Being recognized by a number of influential international blogger, those ¨thinking out of the box¨ stylists have built their platforms on runways in New York and Johannesburg. Tjay wants to inspire African young talents to pursuit their dreams and take as many risks as they can to present themselves in global runways.

Travelling around Malawi is one of the ways to know more the fashion insight in general market, to get inspired for the next collection

Debbie has a fashion and designing diploma, while Tjay is studying business management.

Due to the limited resources, the pair has been running  camps, they hope to help their community by giving them free design and tailoring lessons as well as sourcing skills and materials from local suppliers.

They are not only focusing on fashion design but also they plan on venturing into fashion blogging, services like image and wardrobe consulting, fashion styling and visual presentation.
