A guide for the holidays (2/2).

As promised, we are continuing our gift guide for this upcoming holiday season. We have already aforementioned (in the previous article), the 5 streetwear brands that you should seriously consider for your own or your loved ones’ closets for 2018, and here are the rest.

Riveriswild, for instance, is a lifestyle brand, which had its latest Fall-Winter collection mainly formed around the creative directors’ – Wale Akinbiyi’s, formerly spent years in Nigeria. However, apart from that, the brand generally endorses the chaos of life, its unpredictability and celebrates the differences and connections that come along of its [life’s] way.

Next, we are moving on to a Johannesburg-based streetwear brand that goes by the name of OHYESLORD. The name of the brand was chosen due to the founder’s, Hamilton Thindisa, discovery of his purpose in life. OHYESLORD is a type of exclamation that praises blessing or anything good in life. Therefore, he named it so, as his brand/creations are his purposes in life and, therefore, he feels blessed.

Moving on to the 8th one –  òL New York, another progressive brand that has a wide range of clothes that would fit in anyone’s closet. The òL in the name stands for “outside lines”, which most likely regards to the forward-thinking and authentic clothing that the brand is producing.

The following brand consists of a skateboard collective in Nigeria, that creates fresh designs for the streetwear apparel. Moreover, the brand – WAFFLESANDCREAM, is also providing a rare space for young talents of Nigeria to explore their creativity and potentials.

Finally, the last brand on the list goes by the name DEAD. It is a lifestyle brand, which is based in Pretoria and produces well-made clothes in unique prints, bright colors, and textures; it can also be described as a hyper-millennial generation brand.

We end this gift guide at that, we hope it helped and that you got to know these amazing brands and the stories/creators behind them!
