She states that it was not an easy decision, but her family understood and supported her, making it easier to start her way in the journey. First, she opened a clothing store called “Zahra vet” in Abidjan, and later a second one in Osu. Quickly, it became one of the most fashionable stores in town but she wanted to achieve an even higher excellence. She continued her beauty path and enrolled herself in “Le conservatoire du maquillage” in Paris, one of the best makeup schools; and after being top of her class, Jijiglam started working as a makeup artist and fashion consultant for magazines and fashion shows. She has worked in a series of high level shows like Vlisco Fashion, Canoe Magazine, and Expo Fashion Week.
Today, Jijiglam is looking to open a fashion school in Ghana, where she can show other girls all the knowledge that she has learned over the years. According to her “We have excellent beauticians in Ghana and young ladies who have the passion for it but they do not get the right training and I am dismayed when I see some of their works. I think every Ghanaian woman in particular has the right to look trendy as the overseas ladies.” She wants to work with this talent and help these girls that may have the potential to make a huge career but lack have the possibility of flying overseas to educate themselves in Paris, as she has. In this school ,Jijiglam says she will be sharing everything she knows, and she will also open a website under her name. In this website, she will share her tips on everything from beauty and style – to how to match clothing and how to shop. After being asked one of her greatest experiences, she expressed how getting to know and learn from the world’s great make up artist Mario Dedivanovic, Kim Kardashian’s make up artist was unbelievable, since it gave her a lot of new ideas and helped her meet a lot of talented people.
